Planning & Zoning
The purpose of planning & zoning is to promote the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the community, to protect and conserve the value of buildings, and encourage the most appropriate use of the land. The Land Development Code is used by the Zoning Administrator as a guideline for issuing permits and is maintained by the Board of Trustees.

Building Inspections & Contractor License
The Town of Wiggins currently follows the 2003 IRC.
Contractors of ALL trades who will be working on a permitted project are required to be licensed with the Town of Wiggins. Electrical and Plumbing contractors must be licensed through the State AND with the Town of Wiggins. Applications may be submitted by the following methods:

Walk-in: Office open from
M-F 8:30 am-4:30 pm
ALL inspections must be called in to the Town of Wiggins 24 hours prior to inspection at 970-483-6161.
ALL electrical and plumbing inspections will be done by the State of Colorado; NOT the Town / County.
Water Meter Pit Specs
The State of Colorado requires Locates to be performed prior to ANY digging for any project. This is to protect the underground wiring and pipes. It is the applicant/contractors responsibility to call for locates by dialing 811 at least 72 hours prior to the start of your project.
